Going

"I walk in the world to love it."
Mary Oliver
Angry? Go for a walk.

Confused? Walk.

Overwhelmed? Walk.

Stuck? Walk.

Worried? Walk.

Low? Walk.

A walk has a way of thawing what's frozen within. Keep going.

  2. A good walk clears the mind and bonks off the misbehaving brain cells. But it's been to cold and snowy for many walks recently.

    1. Bonks off the misbehaving brain cells...that's EXACTLY what it does. Well said.

  3. I've always found walking helpful when deep in thought or doing deep processing. And even if a long walk is not available, there's always good old pacing. I also think this is why I enjoy walking labyrinths as a spiritual practice. Walk on, DB, walk on!

  4. Walking helps keep me sane. It exercises my body, feeds my soul, and calms my nervous system.

  6. Did a whole lot of walking this week. Flew to Idaho to visit my mom in E. Oregon. I'm ready to STOP walking for a couple days. LOL But things are blooming and there's a little trail not too far from me. Hm.

    1. Thank you for hearing me. BTW, this is the title of a very touching Sinead O'Connor song.

Walking cures many ills. Just getting outside does, too. Mind you, one has to be careful saying so; sometimes these ideas aren't welcome. Nevertheless I have a lot of faith in them lifting the spirits if nothing else. -Kate

    1. Agreed. It certainly works for us, but I too wouldn't claim that it will lift everyone.

  10. Arthritis has put me in a walker and on a treadmill. I do miss the paths in the woods a lot.

    1. No doubt. I've had family members with walkers...sometimes their walking was the exercise bike...that helps too.
