I've always found walking helpful when deep in thought or doing deep processing. And even if a long walk is not available, there's always good old pacing. I also think this is why I enjoy walking labyrinths as a spiritual practice. Walk on, DB, walk on!
Did a whole lot of walking this week. Flew to Idaho to visit my mom in E. Oregon. I'm ready to STOP walking for a couple days. LOL But things are blooming and there's a little trail not too far from me. Hm.
Walking cures many ills. Just getting outside does, too. Mind you, one has to be careful saying so; sometimes these ideas aren't welcome. Nevertheless I have a lot of faith in them lifting the spirits if nothing else. -Kate
I do love a good walk. Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Happy weekend to you too.
DeleteA good walk clears the mind and bonks off the misbehaving brain cells. But it's been to cold and snowy for many walks recently.
ReplyDeleteBonks off the misbehaving brain cells...that's EXACTLY what it does. Well said.

ReplyDeleteWalk on, Debra, walk on!
DeleteWalking helps keep me sane. It exercises my body, feeds my soul, and calms my nervous system.
ReplyDeleteYes! It's all about the nervous system.
DeleteI have had SO many mental revelations when I'm out on a walk!
ReplyDeleteSo true. I should have added that!

ReplyDeleteI love hearing about blooming.
Delete...yes I should.
ReplyDeleteIt will change everything.
DeleteI hear you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hearing me. BTW, this is the title of a very touching Sinead O'Connor song.

ReplyDeleteAgreed. It certainly works for us, but I too wouldn't claim that it will lift everyone.
DeleteGood advice.
ReplyDeleteI try not to give advice, but nevertheless, thank you.
DeleteArthritis has put me in a walker and on a treadmill. I do miss the paths in the woods a lot.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt. I've had family members with walkers...sometimes their walking was the exercise bike...that helps too.
DeleteI used to walk a lot and then I got arthritis in my knees and can't walk as much as I used to.
ReplyDeleteA good walk can change your mood. Heck, even a poor one can help.
ReplyDeleteA walk is such a simple and effective way to banish personal demons.
ReplyDeleteWalking is my favorite outdoor activity, even if it's "just because."
