Let's be honest:

Thanks, Chris
(for fries cooked in beef tallow,
 and for everything else too).
Everyone should know a guy who

a. knows a guy

b. knows a guy who knows a guy

c. knows how to make homemade French fries.

Dear friends, who's your guy? And what do they know?

    1. That's because you just might be everyone else's go-to "guy."

    1. I rarely eat them either. Sometimes you just need a fry though.

  4. I dunno, but it strikes me that we didn't visit a chip truck even once last summer. What a tragedy!

  5. Mmmm... those look tasty. You lucky duck.
In others news, for those making fries in an air fryer: I went to see my sister Karen on Friday. Her air fryer, plugged in on her kitchen counter but not in use, started on fire. Unplug those babies!

    1. Yikes. Good to know. Also, I'm dusting off "lucky duck" and employing that idiom throughout the day. Insert fist bump here.

  6. When we want fries, we make them at home and call them "french bakes". Just had some the other night. Very good indeed.

  9. Oven fries, pretty yummy, lots of pepper. And sometimes some chili powder too. Spicy!

    1. Yes, those will do in a pinch...the pepper is the secret. Well done.

  10. If I want good fries I have to get them at a restaurant, where I don't know the name of the 'guy' that made them.

  13. Seems like your guy knows what he’s doing with the French fries! Regarding the air fryer comment above, someone told me once that a firefighter told them that most kitchen fires started with appliances with a heating feature. Toaster, etc. I have unplugged my toaster ever since. (Now I’m not sure whether it’s the heating feature or if I’m remembering that wrong..could just be a faulty wire, right?)
