fiddlesticks + stickler = a person lacking compromise who stubbornly insists on something, something really quite inconsequential, pointless or petty. Fiddlesticklers express impatience when others do not jump on the their bandwagons-to-nowhere. See wives; see husbands.

Oh yeah! I've had to deal with a fiddlestickler in particular more than a few times myself.
