(noun): slept + skeptic = those who doubt they'll sleep through the entire night, or whose history has shown proper uninterrupted shut-eye to be elusive aka more four winks than forty winks. Sigh.
Codex: It's a good word to describe mind over mattress. Me: Ready for sleep. Mind: Really? I'd like to chat. Me: Not now. Mind: Blah.Blah.Blah. Me: Not this again. It's my favorite game.
I have been sleeping quite well lately. I've always been pretty good at sleeping. I don't usually sleep very long -- 6 hrs is a good night's sleep, 4.5 is manageable.

I am very sleptic, but I did get 7 hours last night. That is a huge win for me.
I haven't had an uninterrupted full night's sleep since menopause nearly 20 years ago.
At around 4:00am, get up, visit the loo, look out of the window and check on the neighbourhood, if all is well, then go back to bed. Yes I'm sleptic.

Aah, that is what I have. I am with Codex above - sadly.
Mind over mattress? Ha, clever. And your conversation is relatable.
That is indeed a win! You've written about being a sleptic, so this is especially good news.
Yikes. Unfair.
You're not alone.
Keep up the good work.
To interrupt my most distracting 4 am conversations I count backwards from 300. Sometimes it works.
You've just described me to a T.
Thank heavens for naps to get me though the day!
Codex: LOL
Codex: I made my sheep crash into the fence, because it wasn't working.
