Reminds me of those contests we used to have in grade school to see who would eat the whole day's meal smashed together and mixed with chocolate milk and ketchup. Kids are disgusting.
My guess would be crabapple preserves way past their best before date. But just kiss that sealer goodbye and toss the whole thing out unopened and unexplored!
I have no idea what that could be. However, I am also working on my own fridge mystery post, so we must be on the same wavelength or something this evening?
There is a possibility whatever it is didn't start off with that pink color and it changed as it degraded. However, while that theory creates more options to work with, it takes the gross factor waaay up.

Yep, those totally deserve the stink eye. Got a bunch of those in the fridge here. I stay far away from them.
I was going to say tomatoes in a jar but those are definitely not tomatoes.
