1. Who are the "people?"
2. What are they trying to do?
3. Whose "thing" is referenced here?
4. Why do the "people" lack motivation?
5. What does this infer about the future?
6. Did Yoda write this?
7. Is Dr. Seuss involved? (Thing 1?)
8. What happened to Thing 2?
9. Is this some sort of hooked on phonics advertising campaign?
10. Is it just me or does this make complete sense when I imagine Sofia Vergara saying it?

Ohh yeah, when Sofia's voice said it in my head it was complete coherent!
Makes sense to me.
By far, worst cookie fortune ever!
#9 ....still laughing...
I got a dirty vibe off of it.
Like...
People try thing (winkwinkwink) because they just don't want it (WINK) enough.
No?
The post caught my eye. I had to start following your blog!

Officially the weirdest fortune I have ever seen.
"Thing" is obviously a code word. Have you stumbled across an old spy fortune cookie left over from the Cold War? I just saw "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" so anything is possible. Trust no one.
I think it's either a translation fail, or they've run out of ideas and are now just stringing random words together.
Outsourced fortune. Good luck.
SubRadarMike had the right idea, I think!
People try THING
like ONE thing
only one.
I liked Lorraines comment (tee,hee)
I NEED FORTUNE COOKIE CLOSURE! I TRY THING TO FIND CLOSURE!
No, it's bugging me...I want to make it fit our lives.
Number 10!!
My most recent and possibly weirder fortune cookie: "Made in the USA"
I think Yoda did have a hand in this.
We already know how he feels about "trying" to do something. Taking that into consideration, we can surmise that if you "try" a thing rather than "do" or "do not" said thing, then you obviously lack the proper motivation.
Hmmm...
I'm with Vinny, stop trying, start doing.
Maybe instead of trying to write fortunes they should start doing it.
I can't believe you are criticizing the fortune cookie that I wrote ...
Not to worry... I'm sure you want it enough.
Classic Engrish! I love it.
