My wife grew them but she can't remember what they're called. They look innocent but I am convinced they are irrefutably evil. We all know that the smaller the pepper, the hotter the pepper. We think they might be habaneros. We're afraid. Very afraid. Mostly because of the time my wife wiped her nose after chopping jalapenos and had to shove her face in an ice bath.

I have no idea, but I know you can give a child a valuable learning experience by letting them test it and learn the value of "look before you leap" and "some things are spicy".
The last time I had a pepper like that it was hot and somewhat unpleasant going in, and, well, the worst experience imaginable coming out.
As my good friend used to call it, FIRE IN THE HOLE.
I say, assume the worst. Reminds me of a time we bought what were thought were local heatless peppers and there was an impostor (with apparent radioactive-level heat) in the mix.
Not a fun time.
Just take a bite of one, for the love of God.
Next time, keep the seed packet!

Whatever they are, just tell the kids they're a new variety of strawberries then sit back and watch the fun!
Oh those look lethal.
Deseed them and cut out any of the white stuff inside. That will tone down the heat a little. They look tasty. I would add them to fajitas or stir fry.
just give them away to a neighbour you do not like! seriously, step away from the peppers!

The question is: Why did she grow them if they're too hot for you to eat?
The good news is, you probably won't die from eating them.
They don't look like they're all the same thing. The ones on the left just look like bell peppers, which aren't very hot at all. I really don't know much about Scotch Bonnets, or Bonsai peppers, so maybe they're one of those...
Stay far away from those!
