Side note: YES (bitter sigh), there's still snow where I live. 😡
Sticks...IYAM, they're the OG vibrant things: they might be the prototype for imaginative utility.
Throughout history, whether its Westeros or a cave or or a Renaissance Fair or a battlefield or a campsite or a playground, haven't we humans felt compelled to pick up a random stick, instinct for kindling, hammer, cane, sword, horsie, dog-toy, wand, broomstick, back-scratcher, ski-pole, sad umbrella.
Woodn't you agree that a stick is rooted in meaning? (Sorry.)
I do see bare ground around that patch. Stick around a bit longer to see more.
ReplyDeleteWill do, sir.
DeleteAll seems well with the world when you have a good stick.
ReplyDeleteIt's true.
DeleteI've been known to pick up a short stick on a walk to use as a fidget toy.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteI have a grandson who loves sticks and has been picking them up for years. I like them for kindling.
ReplyDeleteClassic kid behaviour.
DeleteI found a stick like yours in the photo while walking on a beach. I still have it, it's been almost 8 years and it stands in a vase with a bunch of driftwood found through the yeaes.
ReplyDeleteClassic example.
