Things one should never outgrow:

"Music can change the
world because music can
change people." Bono
making music, even if the best you can do is the washboard-tie aka musical instruments made for people like me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you play a musical instrument, or perhaps some sad substitute, albeit with absolute glee?

(Whatever your response, I hope there's an abundance of music enriching your life.)

That washboard tie looks like it would be fun! I've tried many "folk" instruments over the years, including harmonica, juice harp, ocarina, tin whistle, but never the washboard! More power to you!

For about five years around my early 60s, I attempted the fiddle. I never became accomplished, but I enjoyed the effort. I stopped as my body broke down. You do require decent fingers to fiddle.

I play no musical instruments, definitely a missed opportunity in this life. I do sing in a choir so there is music in my life. I do enjoy making a joyful noise by blending voices. I wish I could play the piano though. I so admire those who can play an instrument.

I love to listen to music. I love to hear new music. I played piano for7 years. I quit at age 17. My mom told me I'd regret it and she was right as usual.

I played the recorder, then the bassoon and finally the cello. All badly but with great joy. On the whole, in my daily life, I prefer it quiet around me but I like to go to concerts and get lost in the music then.

I play the piano - some would say I play at it. My playing is just for me, and when I'm wearing headphones, no-one else is bothered by it. I've played all my life, encouraged by my late father, who was a very good pianist.

My comment seems to have disappeared. Bless Blogger!
I play the piano, quite badly, but it's for my amusement only, though I used to play when I was teaching music (songs for 3 to 11 year-olds)
Music is believed to energise the brain, and to encourage healthy brain development in children.

…Washboard Chaz the washboard player featured with the Playing For Change Band is a favorite. More than 60 years ago I played or played at the washtub bass. Life without music sure would be bleak.
