Things that deserve the stink-eye:

jellied salad.

Who first put jelly and salad together? And why? (Things I think about instead of sleeping.)

Jelly salad was a staple of every holiday meal when I was a girl!

And fruit cocktail salad has no business whatsoever being on the table with meat and potatoes. How does combining multiple dessert ingredients magically become a main course item?

Who put it together indeed, ha. Warm greetings!

I so agree. The only thing jello should be served with is whipped cream. I ate that every single day of every single term at university - no lie. When I was a kid, we used to put sugar and milk on it and that was pretty good, too. (Yes, sugar on sugar.)

This reminds me of an article I read in which the authors recreated a 1950s meal in which everything was molded or jellied. And appeared utterly disgusting. Much, unfortunately, like this.

Jelly and salad do NOT sound like a good combo to me LOL
