Absolutely. True.
Just one of the reasons why books are so powerful. Following (in no particular order) are my five favourite reading experiences this year.
Raw. Violent. Tender. Exploitation. Colonialism. Pain. Perseverance. It's everything my country was founded on and almost 400 years later these wounds remain unhealed. |
Ever want to smash everything because unfairness has ruined everything? This cathartic journey with a 13 year old boy both smashes and soothes. |
A clever little book especially for creatives written in ABC format (and I'm always a sucker for that). Never forget: umbrellas completely miss the point. |
I just love that Banksy exists and he wants us to THINK about art, about what we value, about who we are. |
Quite simply it just felt like unadulterated TRUTH to me. So useful (especially if you're human). Validates. Inspires. Guides. Heals. |

Thanks for sharing from your reading list - I will make note of these and give them a look, and possible a read.
The Orenda has crossed my path re a chat with a reading buddy - she enjoyed it very much so it is already a book of interest.
I think the last one sounds the most appealing to me. But the 3rd and 4th are close behind.
Thanks for the suggestions! I love to read. I also love to write, but it's nice to read something from someone who actually has talent.
These look interesting. I've been slacking off on my reading of late. I'm determined to fix that.
What a nice bunch of reads! Thanks for sharing them. Two just made my reading list.
This is a great list. I'm curious about the monster one and the V is for vulnerable, and Mindset is something my wife and I have talked a lot about over the last year or two. She has a few college lectures specifically devoted to stuff from Mindset.
