Ever think about that fact that everything has something
to do every day and there’s a lot of repetition involved? I’m not saying things
get humdrum. I’m just saying. It’s a fact of life. We have things we do and
things we do again and more things we do again and again. Some examples...
Sharks: swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, stalk, swim, swim,
swim, attack, eat, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim,
stalk....
Trees: sway, sway, sway, sway, convert carbon dioxide to
oxygen, sway, sway, sway, sway, sway, filter the air, sway, sway, sway, sway,
sway, sway....
Moose: chew, chew, chew, chew, walk, walk, walk, stand,
stand, stand in middle of highway, stand, stand, stand, stand, move off the
highway, walk, walk, walk, chew, chew....
But then something unique happens. Maybe the shark
encounters a thrill seeker in a barred cage with an underwater camera. Maybe
the tree spots a feller-buncher approaching. Maybe a moose does a face-plant
while crossing the highway.
That one surprised me.
You know the Spring potholes are bad when a moose
stumbles into one while ambling across the highway. When I witnessed this I
knew just how things played out in that moose’s head: wow, asphalt ain’t what
it used to be.

A moose has a lot of face to plant on the highway!
That moose should complain to the municipality like everyone else!
Hahaha.
"Covert" carbon dioxide conversion?
Tree: Pssst. Leafdropper, it's time to produce Oxygen. Pass it on.
Life's potholes often cause embarrassment, but they do have a tendency to shake things. Sometimes we need that.
Soooooooooooooooooo glad we don't get potholes in Arizona. Because we live in heat hell, the pavement never gets cold enough to contract.
Why are they called pot holes?
Great comments. Thanks for the editing work AC. And Michael, interesting question--maybe it more than the obvious shape? Hmmm.
That was a great spelling error.
Sigh.
It would be too time-consuming to return the favor.;)
And I thought the Maritimes were the Pot Hole capital of the world!!
Great post post!
Spring potholes are bad when a moose stumbles into one. And disappears.
Yep. That's pretty bad.
OH MY GOSH...are you serious. That must have been a sight to behold. A once in a lifetime for sure !!!!
We had a sinkhole here in Ottawa. It got its own twitter account. It ate a minivan.
