I always apply the same criteria to art regardless of the medium: sincerity. That difficult-to-explain but easy-to-feel genuineness always affects me. And, for me, some linger.

I really didn't click with Tree of Life.
Excellent lists. I read so little this year I think I forgot how to do it.
The only one I've read here is Quiet and her research has helped me a lot. I keep meaning to read Cormac MacCarthy and will now make it a point.
