Things that deserve the pink-eye:

Big sniff energy?
whatever this is.

Gross.

😒😷👎

Yes indeed, practically every time I acquire a head cold with a runny nose, if I blow my nose too hard AIR ALSO COMES OUT OF MY EYE!

Yes, you read that correctly.

I did not have rebellious tear-ducts on my aging bingo, but here we are. This condition is apparently more common in older folks, babies, and those who've broken their noses, all conditions that currently describe me—the baby part is apt since I have a cold and I'm a man—and yes I did add this for preemptive reasons in the comments. ;)

The only bonus: no pink eye. YET.

Dear friends, aging is no a (decidedly) laughing matter.

  1. On the other hand, it sounds like a neat parlor trick...

  2. I had a friend in school that could blow air out their eyes at will. Was pretty neat. And real too!

  3. Well, after hearing about your woeful condition, I won't bitch anymore about what happens when I get a bad cold. The combination of low lying sinuses and long roots on my upper teeth means that if I get a bad head cold with inflamed sinuses, all my upper teeth ache to the point where I want to pull them out with pliers.

    1. I know what you mean.... a head cold always gives me sore teeth.

    2. What?! Sorry to hear this, Debra. That sounds terrible and I'm sufficiently sheepish now for whining about my minor oddity.

  4. That happens to me sometimes as well, nice to know I'm not the only one:)
    Hope you're feeling better soon.

    1. Resolving this issue is apparently complicated. Nbd.

  6. As long as it's only air that comes out of your eyes.... could be a lot worse!

  7. Not laughing. I use supplemental oxy at night and notice nasal secretions thickened by this. Never thought of the tear ducts. Thanks for the idea; will follow up.

  8. Wow! This is amazing! I've never heard of this. But yes, aging certainly is challenging, but it's better than the alternative.

  9. I have never heard of this either. Get well soon, and yes, getting old isn't for the faint of heart!

  11. I remember there was a baseball movie where the joke was that the pitcher was so zoned in that he was breathing from his eyes.

  12. Interesting
I've heard of people that could drink something and then squirt it out of their eye. Must be a way of making this condition entertaining. You might want to look into that. (See what I did? --Look into that)

  13. I saw a YouTube short about this just a few days ago! It impressed me then and it still impresses me :D On a related note, have you ever wanted to run away with the circus??
