Yes, I have 4 snow shovels. Don't ask. If you live in the North, are you prepped for Winter? |
Our current high today in northwestern Canada is 4 degrees Celsius. With the wind? -5! Tomorrow's high? 2/35! 😢
Hence, the snow-shovels are out of the storage shed again. Sigh.
Dear friends, this is not flake news.

Don't miss shovel detail at all. :) When you have a visitor, you can tell them to check out one of your shovels. :)
"Flake news," GROAN! You can never have TOO many snow shovels. Every Canadian knows this.
Ha. Noted. I've had worse awkward conversations with men.
Thank you for the (Canadian suck-it-up-Canuck) reminder...I needed that.
Codex: 4 for 1 deal?
Codex: could you write about the unusual cat you know?
Hmm. Contemplating this...will get some more specific details from my SIL so perhaps?
Until then...adopted as a kitten, is neutered & vaccinated and adored by my SIL who loves his eccentricities...is the meanest cat I know...was supposed to have died 3-4 years ago of an incurable disease...stares at nothing...pulls out his own fur...makes this predatory noise at glinting lights...loves people who don't like (ignore) cats...sleeps on his back...these behaviour seem strange to me because my own (childhood) cats did not act this way.
Here in Eastern Ontario, we get a lot of accumulation over the winter, but it usually doesn’t begin until December. November snows will usually go away but not always.
Codex: could be funny from the perspective of a non cat person. They all stare at nothing with intensity.
Chattering at lights is an instinctive reaction to reflective eyes of their prey I think. I think it'll be a fun writing challenge
Fortunately, we don't get a lot of snow in Southwest Missouri and I can usually manage to stay home a day or so until it melts.
Flake news! Ha Ha. I admire people who can pun. I'm not good at it.
We've got rain here in Saskatchewan today, but snow won't be far behind. I don't mind snow, but then I don't do much shovelling, and I no longer have to plow my way through banks of it on my way to a job. I no longer have to brush it off firewood before carrying it into the house. (Oh but I miss having a fire.) My flowers are already dead, and I brought the hammock into the house two days ago. I'm as ready as I'll ever be. -Kate
It makes for a much longer winter here. Snowing today. Sigh.
Sounds like a good dream to most Canadians.
Samesies...we're getting read too. I know you know this drill.
No need for shovels here yet, but I for one love snow and cold. Bring it on!
When we moved south, we sold our snow blower but kept our shovels. We have a corner of our garage with snow shovels and a bag of "salt". We still have a snow brush in our car. Our neighbor asked why we don't get rid of this northern "stuff"?
You never know was our comment. But the old farmers almanac says we're in for a snowy winter? What does that mean in the south? 3 inches? We will be prepared for those 3 inches with a shovel. LOL
...I don't want to rub it in, but we are still rather mild. We have a couple of spare bedrooms!!!
