Robertson Davies said a great book should be read three times in order to properly understand it -- first when young, again in middle age, and finally in old age.
I don't re-read them often, either. Time is the main culprit, but mostly, I don't know like knowing how it's going to end. I have read "Accidental Tourist", "Pillars of the Earth", and "In the First Circle" a few times, but I think they might be the exceptions. And from them I learned you forget a lot, so I guess I shouldn't be so averse to it.

For some reason I rarely re-read books. I am an oddball :)
