Wordfuse (Cold Weather Edition)

tuckled (verb, past participle): chuckle + tucked = that dreamy, mushy, sentimental-pleasant feeling one experiences on the couch all safely tucked into a big blanket when someone you love sits down next to you and says something that makes you chuckle because it's witty or goofy or ridiculously random such as "Frick bacon's expensive." This feeling is enhanced when one's outside temperature is -30 degrees Celsius like it is here right now. (Try not to think about this last part too much because it might kill that all-tuckled-in awesomeness, because that is my wish for you peeps this weekend.)

I have not been tuckled nearly enough this winter. It's totally my favorite, and I just haven't had the time... Lame.

One day I will experience this thing known as "winter" &, then, the joy of the tuckle shall be mine.

I AM SICK OF WINTER
tuckled or no tuckled.

@MrsTuna Thanks. Maybe.
@paul Get tuckled man.
@VinnyC Yes. You need to but then I won't blame you if you go directly back to the sun.
@wendy Glad to hear it and YES I AM SICK OF IT TOO!

Does this work with a Snuggie too?

When it's so cold, your scrotum gets sucked up inside your body: Testicicles.

It's not tuckling weather here at the moment :)
Too hot for tucking.
Too hot for sitting next to loved one.

I do not miss 30 below. But you know that's nothin'. It's not 45 below.

People here go bonkers as soon as it gets below 20. Then I feel pretty tough.

There is something to it being too cold to go outside, though. Your blanket seems cozier and your sweetheart seems sweetier. Your couch is couchier and the jokes are funnier.

Antarctic research stations can use hardy men like you.

Agreed. I like her too.

Vinny, turn up the air conditioning.

tucked on the couch under a big blankie with my honey nearby is just about the most comfy, cozy delicious feeling ever.

This word is perfection. Can I still use it if it's 50 degrees outside? It's raining, if that helps.

DB Stewart said...

@DSWS Sure.
@AP So true. Good wordfuse.
@alittlesprite *jealous face*
@Chelle Really? I thought it got that cold in your new province. And so true, as you know, this is nothing. And, your sentence filled with comparatives is so awesome it makes it warmer here. Thank you.
@AC I'd last about 15 minutes. And I completely agree that Vinny needs to turn up the heat.
@Sherilin Coziness. Nice.
@DP Absolutely. The rain counts. (Oh how I long for a nice spring rain again.)

Temperatures of -30 ain't so bad when you think of all that tuckling you'll be doing!

Alittlesprite said...

Seriously? You would melt, a day in my summer :)

That is the best word I read all week. Love it so much!

Very nice fusing!

Shudders when thinking of such cold.

DB Stewart said...

@Symdaddy Good point.
@alittlesprite My brother is there right now. If he can do it, so can I (but you do have a point.)
@LifewithKaishon Thanks. I like it too.
@Dr.C Thanks O wise one.
@LoC It's not so bad although people here get very very antsy if it remains for too long. It's -28 this morn so people will be getting antsy very soon.

I bet you're not wearing a kilt in that weather. Brrrrr.

Makes me feel like a winp complaining about the cold here. The big difference is the damp factor of our weather so I'm told.

Stay warm - and thanks - that fair tuckled my fancy!!!

DB Stewart said...

Nope. But I'd feel way "cooler" if I were. And yes, I imagine the humidity is a killer during winter there but nevertheless, I'm glad you're tuckled pink.

Alittlesprite said...

I bet he is thinking, "OMG I've landed in hell. Yep. Hell"

Mrs4444 said...

Thank you! I was just thinking of getting all snuggled in here for a nap, and now I think you've endorsed that :)

michael.offworld said...

It IS expensive. This post is so awesome, it propagated the word you created.

DB Stewart said...

@Mrs4444 Yes. I approve.
@Michael True. And thank you for saying that.
